DEVELOPMENT OF OPTICAL CABLES FOR USE IN SPECIAL APPLICATIONS AND EXTREME CONDITIONS

The aim of the project is to develop two prototypes of optical cables (PRO1 and PRO2) and two verified manufacturing technologies for these optical cables (OVT1 and OVT2).

The result of the project is a completely new design of optical cables, which currently has no equivalent on the optical cable market. The first optical cable design (PRO1) is intended for perimeter protection, where the cable will be used to diagnose the movement of persons in the vicinity of the cable. The second type of data cable (PRO2) is intended for use in demanding environments, where one of the applications is use in nuclear power plants in locations with increased radiation and maintaining functionality in emergency situations.

The project will enable OPTOKON Kable Co., s.r.o. to expand its product range and the Czech Technical University in Prague and ÚJV Řež, a. s. to acquire new expertise.
