OPTOKON, a global provider of fiber optic connectivity, ruggedized communication technologies, and mission-critical IT infrastructure solutions, announces a strategic cooperation with ATRI UAB, a Lithuanian defense technology company specializing in thermal imaging and military surveillance systems. Through this cooperation, OPTOKON will offer, integrate, and provide lifecycle support for ATRI UAB thermal camera systems as part of its military vehicle projects to C5ISR topologies.
The cooperation is designed to provide defense customers with a unified, deployment-ready architecture combining thermal vision capabilities with OPTOKON ruggedized networking, computing, optical connectivity, power, communication, testing, and service solutions. Instead of delivering separate subsystems that must be adapted later, OPTOKON and ATRI UAB will support customers with a more coherent approach: sensor-to-network-to-operator integration within one mission-oriented vehicle solution.
Modern military vehicles increasingly depend on reliable situational awareness, secure data distribution, resilient communications, and fast integration of mission equipment. Thermal vision systems are a critical part of this environment, helping vehicle crews operate during darkness, smoke, fog, dust, rain, snow, and other degraded-visibility conditions. When connected into a robust C5ISR architecture, the camera system becomes more than a standalone viewing aid: it becomes part of a complete operational picture available to drivers, commanders, crew stations, onboard computers, communication gateways, and wider command networks according to customer requirements.
Within future projects, OPTOKON will be able to integrate ATRI UAB and OPTOKON thermal cameras and Driver Vision Enhancement solutions with ruggedized devices including Battle Management System. This enables customers to specify a complete topology where video feeds, data flows, voice communication, network management, power distribution, and maintenance requirements are considered from the beginning of the design process.
Key advantages of the OPTOKON and ATRI UAB cooperation include:
• Integrated thermal vision and C5ISR vehicle architecture from a single project framework
• Support for both new vehicle programs and retrofit / modernization projects
• Ruggedized networking, computing, cabling, display, power, and camera integration for harsh env.
• Improved driver vision, crew situational awareness, and vehicle operability in limited-visibility conditions
• Simplified project coordination, installation, testing, service, and lifecycle support
• Customer-specific configuration to vehicle type, mission profile, interface req., and operational doctrine
• A deployment-oriented approach focused on making the final system ready for field use
In addition to supplying hardware, OPTOKON brings long-standing experience in testing, certification, calibration, configuration, installation support, and customer training. This is particularly important for vehicle-based C5ISR systems, where each component must be installed, verified, documented, and maintained in a way that supports operational readiness. The cooperation with ATRI UAB therefore strengthens OPTOKON’s ability to deliver end-to-end solutions that are aligned with each partner’s technical specification, platform constraints, and deployment schedule.
“This cooperation reflects our commitment to help partners and customers receive the equipment they need in a form that is integrated, tested, supported, and ready for deployment. By combining OPTOKON ruggedized C5ISR infrastructure with ATRI UAB thermal vision systems, we can deliver a more complete vehicle architecture tailored to real operational requirements.”
said George Štefl, Group Manager & Head of Marketing at OPTOKON.
With this strategic cooperation, OPTOKON and ATRI UAB demonstrate a shared focus on practical integration, reliable field performance, and customer-specific delivery. The combined solution is intended to help defense partners accelerate modernization programs, reduce integration complexity, and deploy mission-ready C5ISR vehicle systems with advanced thermal vision capability.
